Seeing as I’m actually on the app, I’m in bed and having me time. Yes okay, me time has started at 21:40 and I like to sleep at 10 but it’ll do.
Anyways, this week I got told to watch The Tinder Swindler on Netflix.
I myself have used tinder before in the past. I had no luck, a lot of creeps wanting on thing (no offence – or maybe offence if you are a creep?) so I knew I had to watch it.
It all starts how this woman goes on a date and this guy flys her in his private jet abroad.
Now, I’m no expert at telling this story so please go watch it, let me continue….
He wines and dines her, tells her how much he loves her, sends her gifts etc. Now even with the knowledge I have on abuse (in all its forms) I was even starting to fall in love with this guy, but I knew, like all good stories like this, it always comes crashing down.
So he was seeing other people. WHAT A CHEATING YOU KNOW WHAT.
Did she know though? No because he was living a double life. But not just any double life.
He was “swinderling” the women he spoke to out of thousands of pounds. He wasn’t rich, nor famous, he was just using their money.
FINANCIAL ABUSE, FRAUD.
I was extremely pee’d off actually. How the banks allowed women to take out multiple loans and see money being transferred daily and they did nothing? I work in banking and I’d be ashamed! More has to be done on financial abuse.
Since my talk to the FCA, Irish Culture Board and god knows who else, it’s now mandatory for banks to be educated on it. Yay 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Back to the story, so a big investigation goes on and we get introduced to all these different women.
One then swindled the swindler by convincing him to give her all his designer clothes saying she’ll sell them to get him money but then she pocketed it all for herself. WHAT A HERO!
He got put in prison for 15 months. WHAT AN ACTUAL JOKE.
Now he’s alive, kicking and giving business advice?!
What has the world come to
Give it a watch!
